Dashing Through December
It's already December 17th!?! This month seemed like it took forever to get here and now that it's here, it feels like it is whizzing by! I guess that just means I've been busy and I am okay with that :)
I hosted a live ornament painting class that was recorded for future viewing. It was a lot of fun! A few people shared their finished ornaments with me, everyone was successful and said they had fun, which is the goal! There are still some ornament kits available for pick up at the studio. You'll have access to the recorded live session and can work on the ornaments at your leisure. You can purchase your kits by sending $30 to Fulton Street Collective via Zelle/Paypal at email@example.com OR via Venmo at firstname.lastname@example.org with a description of "Ornament Kits." Then, email or DM me when you want to stop by the studio to pick them up :)
I completed my first outdoor painting!! It was a last minute call for art I came across on Instagram. I said I was interested around 6pm the night before and then I was painting by 9am the next day! I met some wonderful artists during this process and I am so thankful! My little mural is in between DazeyFace and Britni Mara. It's at South Loop Club on Balboa and State, check them out for your next Chicago meal!
There are a few of my pieces in Fulton Street Collective's Holiday Art Market as well. Three smaller pieces and two that are a little larger and marked down to $500 for this show only! "Shape in Song" and "Merry" are 8"x10" and $95 each. "Frill" is 9"x12" on a 2" cradled wood panel and is $115. "Woman on a Journey" and "Dream in Motion" are both marked at $500 so now is the perfect time to purchase them! "Woman on a Journey" is 24"x24" and is framed and wired. "Dream in Motion" is 22"x28" with painted sides. You can check them out on FSC's Holiday Art Market Page along with the other members of the collective's pieces! Most pieces are even under $250, with several under $100! I still have some jean jackets available too that I won't be listing in my shop, but you can always reach out if you want one!
I sold several rainbow paintings through the Chicago Shakespeare Theater's Holiday Market and I'm excited to see them in their new spaces! If you purchased one I would love to see a photo of where it is now living - you can share them with me via email or Instagram DM. It's always so fun seeing how people add them into their homes!
I have several more rainbow paintings still available. I was lucky enough to finally put my vision into a reality with the display of these pieces. This had been a thought last December when I was planning my solo show that was slated for March 2020. I only had a few rainbows then, but I ended up making over 30. There are 20 left in various sizes and colors now, which is what you see in the picture. I think they are fun mixed and matched together and they can go in any direction so it's really easy to switch it up (which I think is pretty fun)! Check them out on my shop!
Exciting update for my business in 2021: I'm shipping bigger pieces!! I will be adding in my larger pieces to the shop during my winter break from school. Free pick-up at the studio will still be an option as well!
I'm finishing up my last commission of 2020 and working on a special project that I can't share pictures of yet which is why I've been a little more quiet on Instagram this week. If you would like a commission painted in 2021, check out my commission page!
And, as always, here are the tunes that I have been creating to in the studio this month. It has some good December songs in there, but nothing Christmas-y. I've been listening to this playlist my friend Justin sent me for all my Christmas needs. Thanks Justin!!
I wish you all a happy and healthy holiday season as well as a bright new start to 2021! Only 14 days away!!
